Garden Design Process
Transforming Your Garden Step-by-Step
Crafting a garden is an exciting journey, and I’m here to guide you every step of the way. My approach is collaborative and personalised, ensuring your garden not only meets your needs but exceeds your expectations. Here's what you can expect when working with me:

1. Initial Consultation
2. Concept Design
The journey begins with a relaxed and thorough consultation where we meet, explore your space, and Together, we’ll discuss the garden you currently have and the one you dream of.
This consultation helps me understand your needs and preferences in detail, so we can start shaping your ideal garden. I will then prepare a design brief that outlines what we’ve discussed, along with design fees and an overview of the process moving forward.
After the initial consultation, I conduct a detailed site analysis and survey to gather all the information needed to develop a tailored garden plan. I’ll then create a Masterplan that reflects your vision. This plan will include:
• Design Concepts: A clear layout of your garden, showing how each area will function and flow together.
• Visual Aids: Supporting images, mood boards, and concept sketches to help you visualise how the finished design will look.
Once I share this concept with you, we’ll review it together. Any feedback or changes will be discussed.

3. Design Details

Once we have a strong concept, I’ll refine it into more detailed designs. This stage includes:
• CAD Drawings: Precise technical drawings that will help contractors understand the design and how to execute it.
• Material Selections: We’ll decide on the best materials for landscaping, paving, and construction to ensure your garden is both beautiful and functional.
• Planting Plan: A planting plan tailored to your garden’s environment, including mood boards that help you visualize the plant choices and seasonal colours.
With these detailed plans, contractors will be able to provide estimates for the construction of your garden.

4. Garden Build
During the build, I offer:
• Regular Site Visits: I’ll visit your garden regularly to check on progress, ensure all details are being executed correctly, and make sure the overall vision is being realised.
• Problem Solving: If unexpected challenges arise, I’ll be there to adjust and find solutions that keep the project on track.

5. Planting Plans
The Planting Plans are used to show the placement of plants in the garden . Plant schedules are also created for costings and ordering from nurseries, which we can do. Planting plans are supported by moodboards which provide a good feel for the overall planting palette.

A Collaborative Approach to Your Garden
Throughout this process, my goal is to take your ideas and transform them into a functional and beautiful design. I bring my horticultural expertise and creative vision to the table, helping you to see the potential in your garden. Together, we’ll craft a garden that feels uniquely yours—beautiful, functional, and sustainable.

Thanks Claire, that looks amazing! (My mother-in-law who is a big gardener is very excited, so I'm taking that as my signal...plus the pictures look great!)
